A GREAT FIT EVERY TIME
Helping you to pick perfectly fitted brasAt
Mothercare we understand how important it is to be
wearing a well-fitted maternity bra both during and
after your pregnancy. That’s why we work directly with
midwives and pregnant women when designing new bras,
ensuring we provide you with complete comfort and
support.
Your breast will start to feel tender as early as
four to eight weeks into your pregnancy. This is when
you start to need extra support. Our maternity bras are
designed to help to prevent the ligaments in the breasts
from being overstretched. By supporting the delicate
tissues of your breast, you will also be helping to
ensure that you return to your usual shape.
All mothercare maternity bras are designed to give
you superb comfort and support. Buy separate bras for
day and night – time to ensure proper support. Fashion
bras do not provide adequate support in pregnancy.
Health professionals strongly recommend that underwired
bras should not be worn when you are pregnant or nursing
your baby.\
It’s
important to get the right fit
- There are no muscles in the breast – just a small
muscle above.
- The breast contains only ligaments.
- The breast may increase by up to 2lb during
pregnancy.
- You may increase by more than two bra sizes and
may need to be measured up to four times during your
pregnancy.
- You need to be measured for your nursing bra two
to three weeks before the birth.
How to measure the bra size

Measure directly under your bust (position b on the
diagram). If you’ve measured in centimetres, round up or
down to the nearest bra size on the conversion chart. If
you’ve measured in inches, add 4 inches onto an even
number and 5 inches onto an odd number to give your bra
size as also shown on the conversion chart.
How to measure your cup size
Measure around the fullest part of your bust (position
a). For centimetres, the difference between measurement
a and measurement b determines your cup size as shown on
the cup size chart. For inches the difference between
measurement a and the bra size you determined by
measurement b gives your cup size on the chart.

breasts as they get heavier, with a deep centre at the
front, and broader straps, back and sides to give
extra support for active daywear. In sizes from 34B to

- Nursing bras
For when baby arrives and essential if breastfeeding.
With wider sides, back and straps, easier fastening,
